D.C. Motor:-

D.C motor is three types,

1.Shunt Motor
2.Series Motor
3. Compound Motor

Shunt Motor:- The D.C. Shunt motor is a general purpose machine and suitable for any constant speed drive which is not subjected to heavy overloads.

It also used for individual driving such as Lathes, Centrifugal pumps, Blower fans, Reciprocating pump, Drills etc.

Series Motor:-The motor has the characteristic of decreaseing speed for increasing load. The series motor is suitable for fluctuaring load where constant slow is not necessary.
It also used Train, Cranes, Trolley cars, Hoists etc.

Compound Motor :-This type of motor is suitable where large starting torque is required. It is used for fluctuating load.Where load varies from zero to maximum and where closed speed regulations are not necessary.

It can used Punch presses, Shears, Compressors refrigerating plants, etc.
